DSSSB Exam Pattern 2014 New Examination Scheme

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board has announced the new examination scheme of the recruitment exams conducted under different posts by the organization. The candidates who are appearing in any of the DSSSB Recruitment Exams can take a note of the changed exam scheme from the official website of the DSSSB i.e. delhi.gov.in. The new examination scheme is available at the website for download under its Notice Board Section.

Exams organized by the DSSSB include the following:

1. General Posts for Pay Band I (LDC, Steno, Steno-Typist, Warder, Patwari, CW, Driver etc.)

2. Teaching Posts (Security Supervisor, DEO, Librarian, Assistant Sanitary Inspector, ANM, Veterinary, Livestock etc.)

3. General Posts for Pay Band II (Grade II- DASS/ Head Clerk, Assistants, etc.)

4.Technician Posts (Junior Engineer, Sub Officer, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Food Inspector, Wild Life Inspector, Section Officer (Horticulture), Junior Manager (DFC), etc)

5.Technician Posts for Pay Band II (Post Graduate Teachers, Junior Law Officer, Welfare Officer Grade II, Publicity Officer, District Staff Officer etc.)

6.General Posts for Pay Band II (Assistant Assessor, Assistant Manager, Assistant Law Officer, Manager (DSIIDC), Deputy Manager (DFC), Manager Mechanical, Assistant Architect etc.)

Scheme of Examinations:

1. General Posts Tier I: There will be a 200 Marks paper containing objective type multiple choice questions on the following main topics: General Awareness -40 Marks General Intelligence & Reasoning- 40 Marks Arithmetic & Numerical Ability -40 Marks Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension- 40 Marks Test of English Language & Comprehension- 40 Marks

2. General Post Tier II There will be a 200 Marks paper of the same type as stated above and the tier II of the Question Paper is of 275 Marks which includes 75 Marks of descriptive paper and 200 Marks of objective paper. The Descriptive paper is based on two parts: Part I- Multiple Choice Questions on Subject /Qualifying Degree (200 Marks) and Part II- Descriptive English Essay Writing (50 Marks), Letter Writing/ Expansion of Ides in English (25 Marks) respectively.

POST : PRT

Educational Qualification:- Essential

(i) Senior Secondary (10+2) or Intermediate or its equivalent from a recognized board / institution.

(ii) Two year’s Diploma / Certificate Course / in Elementary Teacher education Course/ Junior Basic Training or equivalent or bachelor of elementary education from a recognized institution.

(iii) Must have passed Hindi as a subject at Secondary level.

(iv) Must have passed English as a subject at secondary or senior secondary level.

(v) Candidates must have qualified CTET.

Desirable : Nil

Age Limit:- Not exceeding 30 years, Age Relaxable to SC/ST/OBC/Departmental Candidates/Exam/PH in accordance with the instructions / orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.

One Tier (G/T) Examination:-

SECTION-A:

(i) General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. The questions will be designed to test knowledge of Current Events and of such matter of everyday observation as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to History, Polity, Constitution, Sports, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, Everyday Science, Scientific Research, National/International Organizations /Institutions etc.

(ii) General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability: The syllabus of General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. Test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship, concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc.

(iii) Arithmetical & Numerical Ability : The test of Arithmetical and Numerical Abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Data Interpretation, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs etc.

(iv) Hindi Language & Comprehension and English Language & Comprehension: In addition to the testing of candidate’s understanding and comprehension of the English and Hindi Languages, questions on its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage etc. would also be covered.

SECTION B : Post specific subject related questions:

Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions on the subject concerned as per the qualification prescribed in the Recruitment Rules for the post.

POST : TGT (only for Maths/History/Hindi/Social Science)

Educational Qualification:- Essential:-

1 “A Bachelor’s Degree (Honours/Pass) or equivalent from are cognized University having secured 45% marks in aggregate, in two school subjects of which at least one out of the following should have been at the elective level :-

A. English

B. Mathematics

C. Natural / Physical Science

D. Social Science

Note :- Main subjects for

1. “A Bachelor’s Degree (Honours/Pass) or equivalent from a recognized University having secured 45% marks in aggregate, in two school subjects of which at least one out of the following should have been at the elective level :-

A. English

B. Mathematics

C. Natural / Physical Science

D. Social Science

Provided further that the requirement as to minimum of 45% marks in the aggregate at graduation level shall be relaxable in case of

(a) Candidates who passes a Post Graduate Qualification in any of the teaching subjects listed above.

(b) Belonging to SC/ST

(c) Physically handicapped candidates

2. Degree/Diploma in Training Education or SAV certificate.

3. Working knowledge of Hindi

4. Should have qualified CTET from CBSE.

Provided that Assistant Teachers (From MCD/Dte. of Education) and Lab. Assistant shall not be required to have received 45% marks in aggregate in Bachelor’s Degree (Pass/Honours) or equivalent.

N.B :- “The candidate should have studied the subject concerned as mentioned in the RR’s for at least 02 years during the Graduation course. The elective word may also include main subject as practiced in different Universities”

Age Limit:- Below 32 years, Age Relaxable to SC/ST/OBC/Exam/PH in accordance with the instructions / orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.

Women Candidates & Departmental employees of Delhi Administration:- Relaxable up to 40 years.

Kashmiri Migrant Teachers:- One time relaxation in the upper age limit for the numbers of years served as teacher in Dte. Of Education.

Guest/Contract teachers:-Relaxation in upper age as a one time measure up to the actual time spent as guest/contract teacher in Dte. Of Education, subject to a maximum of 5 years provided they have worked for at least 120 working days in that particular year (this would be applicable to those guest/contract teachers who have worked for the academic years 2012-13, 2013-14,2014-15, 2015-16 & 2016-17).

POST : PGT(only for Maths/History/Hindi)

Educational Qualification:- Essential:- a.

(1) Master’s Degree (Or its equivalent oriental Degree in the case of PGT Sanskrit/Hindi) in the subject concerned from any recognized University.

(2)Degree / Diploma in training /Education.

“Qualification mentioned at S.No.2 above relaxable in the case of candidates.”

(I) Having obtained Ph.D Degree in the subject concerned from a recognized University/Institution.

OR

(II) Having obtained First Division in Higher Secondary, Degree and Post Graduate Examination with the Mandatory condition that the candidate will acquire the B.Ed. / B.T. qualification within a period not exceeding three years from the date of his joining the service.

Desirable:- 3 years experience of teaching in a college /Higher Secondary School/high School in the subject concerned.

Age Limit:- Not exceeding 36 years, Age Relaxable to SC/ST/OBC/Exam/PH in accordance with the instructions / orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.
